No ano de 2026 o Serviço de Cirurgia Cabeça e Pescoço do IPO de Coimbra (Diretora: Dra Paula Messias) volta a organizar o "Fellowship de Cirurgia Endócrina". Este programa oferece seis (6) fellowships de um mês (janeiro a junho) destinados a especialistas e internos de Cirurgia Geral.

A larga experiência do Serviço de Cirurgia Cabeça e Pescoço do IPO de Coimbra no tratamento de patologia benigna e maligna da tiroide e paratiroide, é a razão de ser referencia em cirurgia da tiroide (500 procedimentos / ano), paratiroide e esvaziamentos cervicais (profiláticos e terapêuticos). Esta experiência acumulada, faz deste um óptimo local para aprofundar e partilhar conhecimentos.

O programa "Fellowship de Cirurgia Endócrina 2026", oferece a oportunidade de participar na atividade de bloco operatório, nas reuniões de decisão terapêutica, em consultas de especialidade, e assistir a palestras leccionadas por cirurgiões e endocrinologistas experientes.

Este ano haverá uma novidade. Teremos "live surgery" exclusiva, diretamente de um centro europeu de elevada qualidade. Será uma óptima oportunidade de aprendermos com toda a experiência e sabedoria do Dr. Kyriakos Vamvakidis (Atenas, Grécia) e do Dr. Ozer Makay (Izmir, Turquia).

In 2026, the Head and Neck Surgery Department (Head: Dr. Paula Messias) of the Portuguese Oncology Institute of Coimbra (IPO Coimbra, Portugal) will once again organize the "Fellowship of Endocrine Surgery." This program offers six (6) one-month fellowships (January to June) for specialists and residents in General Surgery.

The extensive experience of the Head and Neck Surgery Department of IPO Coimbra in treating benign and malignant thyroid and parathyroid diseases makes it a reference in thyroid surgery (500 procedures/year), parathyroid surgery, and radical neck dissections (both prophylactic and therapeutic). This accumulated experience makes it a great place to deepen and share knowledge.

The "Fellowship of Endocrine Surgery 2026" program offers the opportunity to participate in operations, therapeutic decision-making meetings, specialized consultations, and attend lectures given by experienced surgeons and endocrinologists.

This year we have something new. We will have exclusive live surgery, directly from a high-quality European center. It will be a great opportunity to learn from the experience, skills, and wisdom of Dr. Kyriakos Vamvakidis (Athens, Greece) and Dr. Ozer Makay (Izmir, Turkey).
